There are only three events in a man's life; birth, life, and death; he is not conscious of being born, he dies in pain, and he forgets to live.
Jean de la Bruyere (Paris Aug 16, 1645 - May 11, 1696 philosopher and moralist who was noted for his satire).
Life
is one big mystery that no one has been able to explain in details.
When people talk about their lives, they describe events that have taken place - names, dates, years - without noticing that every event is related to feelings inside ourselves, to our state of mind.
Our state of mind is internal, events are external. Not always the state of mind is connected to the event. It may be that we have been waiting for an event to happen with great joy but when the event has arrived, an anxiety or fear takes over, indifference and a feeling that something is missing. Simultaneously an event that may have seemed boring can bring joy and excitement for us.
There are many events and situations in our lives that make us happy and there are many situations that make us unhappy. Events are changing all the time. There are better and worse events. There are situations that can be avoided and there are the ones that cannot be altered. These are the ones just to accept even when they are painful. Pain disappears when we don’t identify ourselves with them.
Our state of mind attracts external events accordingly and it is very important how we react to them.
A person who desires to change its unhappy life course has to organise its inner world first. There is no need to suffer endlessly.
External mirrors the internal. When we change ourselves from inside, also things outside will be settled. External events are never as important as the way we react to them. With what kind of state of mind would you react to these situations:
- did you stay calm when you heard an insult?
- how did your react to loved ones infidelity?
- did you allow the jealousy to become poisonous?
You need to learn every day how to react to unpleasant situations with relevant state of mind. Do not identify with every event.
EVERYTHING WILL PASS
