Have you thought about what your name means for you? How do you feel when someone calls you by your first name, last name, or both first and last name? Do you feel comfortable? Does it make you feel warm inside? Or your name does not create any feelings in you, and you feel like it is someone else's name?
Your name is
like a spell or a mantra - a magic of words that has
an influence upon pronouncement.
Maybe you got a
nickname? How do you feel when you are called by
your nickname? Has the nickname been given to you by other people or
have you taken this nickname yourself?
Is the name
chosen by mother or father? How does your surname affect you?
Does your name support and protect you?
Every name has
its own vibration, every letter has its own effect.
The ancient people believed that if the name begins with a vowel, it
is a very good sign, because vowels were considered sacred elements
and if it repeats in the name, its influence increases even more. It
was also believed that the name contains references to character,
future, and fate. Parents gave the child a name and thought about
into what kind of person he/she could grow, a natural child or a
warrior. By giving a name after a saint, the parents hoped that the
saint would protect the child throughout his/her life.
If
the Estonian proverb says, "The name does not ruin
the man, if the man does not ruin the name himself", then in
Latin we can say "Nomen est omen" which could be translated
“Name
is omen (prediction)"
