Your self-esteem starts to develop in your childhood home – it’s affected by your parents’ attitudes and behaviours. You've experienced love and care. When you’ve had enough freedom to make decisions and you’ve felt worthy without having to prove it all the time, then it’s easier for you to respect and realize yourself as well as understand other people.
But when you’ve had very strict rules at home, your parents have been overly demanding, not accepting your mistakes, it’s likely you’re over-critical and at times too unfair to yourself, because you think you’re not good enough and keep trying to prove something all the time.
Self-esteem is very important in coping in real life. Value and trust yourself and others as personalities, not according to the position in society or the financies.
Are you in friendly terms with yourself?
