Different “selves” within us are distinguished by different thoughts. They have different positive but also negative thoughts and attitudes. Negative thoughts and attitudes are, for example, wickedness, distrust, jealousy, lust, revenge, greed, suspicion. It’s not good to identify yourself with negative and harmful thoughts. The more you do it, the more you become a slave of these negative and harmful thoughts and attitudes, and eventually it can be destructive for you.
Each “self” has its own will. If you cling to negative thoughts, you won’t be released from their influence. Your negative self is then engaged in self-deception and self-destruction.
It's important to be honest with yourself.
